The Benefits of Garra Rufa
Garra Rufa massage is enormously beneficial on several different levels. Clients receive unique, natural skincare/pedicure at a fair price. The little fishy therapists can do the work of several therapists, leaving their human colleagues to do other pampering luxuries for the client such as facials, massage etc.
- Garra Rufa can offer completely natural and organic exfoliation
- Smoother more supple skin which is ready and primed for better moisturiser absorption
- Micro massage of all reflex points to increase blood oxygenation and circulation
- Lightening and fading or minor scar tissue
- Relief from psoriasis
- Relief from eczema
- A relaxed feeling of well being
Q1. Will Garra Rufa damage healthy skin?
Q2. Does it hurt, do they bite?
The answer is no to both questions. The fish are great for healthy skin too making it softer and more supple. If you are concerned about the fish biting, please don’t be, Garra Rufa do not have teeth and the sensation first of all is ticklish at the most.
They do not eat your skin, they use their rough lips to slough off dead or diseased skin cells which are passed through the gills to extract minerals and salts and the dropped back into the water where they are filtered out by a jet stream filter area, the water is sterilized by UV encapsulated tubes then returned to the tank, the filters are cleaned every 24 hours.
